I am a wife of 25yrs, mother of two, and a Military Veteran who decided to step out on faith and help others experience the joy of transforming their spaces on a small budget.
My Story
When my son died unexpectedly from heart disease in 2017, I was devastated. I could not enter his room without feeling sad. For 2 years I wasn't able to look at his bedroom door in passing to get to my bedroom because my heart was hurting. One day I decided to turn his room into a space that I could find closeness to him. A space where I could light a candle, play music, try on clothes, and do my makeup! I turned his room into my very own closet, makeup room, lounge, meditation and prayer space. I could not afford to hire an interior decorator to transform the room for me. So, with a little budget and a lot of determination I did it myself. I couldn’t believe how changing that space would be therapeutic and the start to my healing journey. Jumping that very difficult hurdle showed me that God will give us the strength we need to climb any mountain, push through life's tough situations, and that switching things up sometimes is what’s necessary for Nu beginnings.
